Your roof is subjected to relentless, year-round punishment. With the constant motion, brutal UV exposure, extreme weather, and tree limbs, it takes a beating. All of these conditions can cause splitting of the sealants, tears in the membrane, and cracks in the roofs components allowing water infiltration.
Occasionally, a leak is clearly visible. Often dripping around a roof component, such as a skylight or vent. Even pooling on the floor near a slide room, or under a window.
Easily the most recognizeable of the water damage signs is the soft, mushy floor under our feet. This happens because the insulation acts as a wick, trapping the moisture between the panels until they rot.
The wood that makes up the roof and walls rots in the same way as the floors from the wet insulation. Ceilings sag, while walls bubble or warp.
The water that is trapped in the wood and insulation often begins to put off a musty, moldy odor. This is a sure sign of water damage somewhere in your RV.
Though not always evident, water stains are still a valuable diagnostic indicator. Water stains are typically an unmistakeable yellow tinged ring or group of rings .
Delamination is the most ominous sign for RVer's. it is what happens when the wood has soaked in water, causing the fiberglass to separate. It is fixable, although often cost prohibitive.
Many of our customers are surprised to learn that their RV insurance typically will cover leaks caused by an accidental event under your comprehensive policy. Damage from storms, tree limbs, or falling objects belong in this category. Leaks caused by age, sealant failure, and neglect are not covered under most policies. If you are unsure about the cause of the leak, our appraisers can make an accurate assessment for you, as well as offer guidance as to whether it may be covered under your policy.
Understand that some insurance adjusters do not specialize in RV damage assessments. If an automotive or home adjuster is assigned to your claim, they may significantly under estimate the amount required to repair your RV. Please call us if you feel like you need someone in your corner through this process!

You have a small window of time in which to make a claim. If you see signs of water intrusion, schedule an assessment as soon as possible. It is of the utmost importance that you file a claim and start repairs to prevent futher, uninsurable damages.
